Saturday hike turned out to be way more exciting than we expected. The sun is brutal during day time, so we left at 7:00. It was a bit nippy (13C), so we quickly passed Huay Kaew waterfall with just a brief pause to take a picture.
Chiang Mai inhabitants are not early risers, so if you want to do some sightseeing without crowds you have to wake up and get out with sunrise. We left the waterfall behind and ventured into the forest. The maps of that area are, for the lack of a better word, not very precise, so we just followed a twisted trail. We were in a national park just about 6 km outside of the city center, so, not surprisingly, we came upon this sign
and discovered this amazing rocky formation
We tried to make a video, but the sun was still quite low, and it was fairly dark under all vegetation and rocks. You can still get a better idea about the place, but the quality is subpar.
